Tuesday 12th October 2021 – 8pm (GMT)
As part of Baby Loss Awareness Week 2021 we hosted a special webinar focusing on donor conception after pregnancy loss.
Loss is often a defining variable in the journey to parenthood through donor conception – the loss of our fertility, how we’d imagined it would be, genetic issues to pregnancy and baby loss. In the face of multiple losses how is it possible to hold onto hope and redefine a new dream with donor conception?
I was joined by Julianne Boutaleb, Consultant Perinatal Psychologist from Parenthood in Mind, talking about grief and how it can impact our decision making, future treatment cycles, pregnancy and parenting our rainbow baby after loss and in the context of donor conception.
Our hope is that you will find your feelings validated and realise you’re not alone, with so many of us on this path to parenthood having experienced loss in some way.
Julianne is a highly experienced perinatal psychologist, who has worked for over 17 years in the NHS and in private practice with individuals and couples adversely impacted by infertility issues. As a member of BICA, she lectures and writes on how individuals and couples who are trying to conceive (TTC), pregnant or parenting following ART (IVF, ICSI, donor conception, surrogacy) or adoption may be psychologically affected.
